Hurricane Season is Back

Survival_guide

Hurricane Season begins June 1st and ends November 30th. Hurricanes are one of the most devastating and unpredictable storm systems on earth -- packing ferocious winds, torrential rains, and vicious flooding.

They can do unimaginable damage to your home, your property, and even take lives. Fortunately we know when a hurricane is coming and because of that, the steps we take now to prepare ourselves, our families and our homes can make all the difference.

Please take a look around your home and pick up what could become flying objects. Don't leave things to the last minute. Make sure you have plenty of water, batteries and pet food. Those of you on prescription drugs, get an ample supply in case we have a power outage and you can't get to a pharmacy in time. Most of all be safe, look out for yourself and for your neighbors. Take a look at our Hurricane Survival Guide and make sure you have enough of the items listed on the checklist

A warm welcome to all present, past and future residents!

Mainlands 6 is an active senior community!  It’s a great destination for a lot of our residents to leave the colder weather behind and enjoy the South Florida sun and fun.  We pride ourselves in providing our residents with many activities for “active senior living” by sponsoring regular events.

Our community is located in Tamarac, Broward County, Florida, on the west side of the Florida Turnpike, south of Commercial Boulevard and just east of Rock Island Road, and not far from I-95. It’s close to the beaches, waterways, outstanding restaurants, all sorts of shopping and just minutes from the Fort Lauderdale area.

Our attractive, safe, friendly, and quiet community is comprised of 538 single-family homes, a large multi-purpose Clubhouse, with a separate building for the Office, Library and Game Room.  There is a lovely patio area including two swimming pools (one heated), eight shuffleboard courts and four common grounds picnic/grill areas for the enjoyment and use by all members residents.  Our community is intended for occupancy by households comprised of at least one person 55 years of age or older, and no full-time resident under the age of 18 is allowed.

Your Board of Directors and community committees are here to serve you, the members and residents of Section 6, and we hope you take the time to read through the various pages to be found on this website.
